After almost two years under AN-ACC, one of the most complex components of the funding model is understanding the impact of different possible decisions. Balancing reclassifications and their impact on Care Minutes compliance is becoming an increasing issue for providers as compliance pressure increases and funding margins shrink. The answer is to be able to use a system to manage these processes accurately and in real time and the only AN-ACC management system available in Mirus Metrics. In a recent poll conducted by Mirus Australia, almost 50% of respondents were still not sure that their capability to manage AN-ACC was sufficient.
At Mirus Australia, we are dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of aged care management. Our latest release, the Scenario Planning feature in Mirus Metrics, is another investment in this commitment. This innovative tool is designed to help aged care providers model the impact of potential reclassifications and admissions based on forecasted AN-ACC classifications. Here’s how Scenario Planning can transform your operational strategy.
Instant view of potential resident classification changes
Forecasted residents in Mirus Metrics are now divided into three columns for seamless management of resident classifications.
- Not forecasted & No change forecasted: Residents must have a forecast different from their current class to be included in a scenario.
- Can move higher: Residents with a forecast that would result in a higher subsidy and care minute requirement.
- Can move lower: Residents with a forecast that would result in a lower subsidy and care minute requirement.
Providers utilising the updated scenario planner are telling us that identifying residents with classification changes has never been more intuitive than it is in the new scenario planner. Resident names are displayed with their paid and forecasted AN-ACC classifications, and you can include their forecast in the scenario by simply clicking the tick box.
Residents expected to enter the facility or on waiting lists can be also entered using the preadmission function.
Identification of key operational outcomes
Adding residents to scenarios in preadmission, forecasting changes to resident classifications alongside the input of wage and roster hours assumptions allows providers to assess the full impact on funding, operational margin, care minute compliance & obligations within seconds.
