Within 18 months of 1st October, every provider will receive an assessment, and this will reoccur every 3 years or at random based on risk. The purpose of these assessments is to ensure accuracy of care minute reporting in Quarterly Financial Reports and 24/7 RN time in line with the 24/7 RN responsibility.
On the 1st October 2023, care minute targets became mandatory and the care minutes associated with each AN-ACC class were adjusted.
In our work with over 40 providers on their transition to AN-ACC, we have noticed the sector is generally missing the link between funding and care minutes that are opposite sides of the scales that need to be continually kept in balance.
With the focus on care minutes becoming mandatory on the 1st October it’s easy to forget that there are also changes to RVUs also going live that day.
