Welcome to the April 2024 edition.
Revenue
In March, Average Daily Subsidy (ADS) across the sector remained relatively flat, decreasing slightly to $268.02.
Total claiming activity jumped by 0.5% to 7.53%, which can be attributed to improvements in voluntary reclassifications. Due to the growth in claiming activity, the age of AN-ACC claims experienced a significant decline of -3.78%, with 56.92% of all AN-ACC claims now being 12 months in age.
Occupancy
Occupancy levels continued to climb in March, reaching 88.83%. Short-stay admissions dropped by -1.77%, accounting for 22.79% of all residents staying in care for less than 6 months.
Workforce management
Total direct care minutes delivered per resident per day decreased from 205.80 in February to 203.62 in March. RN minutes also declined by -1.16% to 39.25 minutes, indicating a potential challenge in meeting the 44-minute RN requirement when it comes into effect on 1st October 2024.
