ADS, occupancy, and RN minutes continue on a positive trajectory

Revenue
In August, additional gains were experienced across the sector, with the industry’s Average Daily Subsidy (ADS) increasing by a further $1.48, reaching $253/day.
The claiming activity across the sector decreased slightly from 7.21% in July to 6.48% in August, resulting in a change of -0.73%.
Occupancy
Permanent admissions picked up in August, surpassing the 88% rate of occupied bed days. With the growth in resident movement, this introduces another metric for facilities to monitor regarding care minutes.
Short-term admissions also continued to trend around 23% of all resident admissions.
Workforce management
Total direct care minutes increased by 1.99% in August reaching close to 194 minutes worked on a per resident per day basis. The RN Minutes also increased slightly, reaching just shy of 33 minutes worked on a per resident per day basis.
