5 tips to streamline your aged care facility
March 26, 2014 | Aged Care Management
In order to give your aged care facility an edge in today's increasingly competitive market, you need to be running it like a business. What's more, you should be doing so in the most efficient way possible.
Rome wasn't built in a day, and it's unlikely you'll manage to completely streamline your aged care facility in such a short amount of time either.
However, there are a number of easy steps you can take to place yourself on the path to operating a well-organised and cost-effective business. The following are just five!
Pay bills 'en masse'
Inc suggests paying your company's bills "promptly, but en masse". The US business magazine claims that setting aside an hour once a week (or more, if necessary) to send out payments is the best way to get everything attended to on time.
Have fewer staff meetings
You may also want to try having fewer staff meetings, reveals Entrepreneur. Instead of organising multi-weekly get-togethers with your employees, opt for an e-mail update. They can always come speak with you in person if need be!
Consider outsourcing
You don't have to be in direct control of every aspect of your aged care facility. Sometimes, especially when it comes to complex areas such as the ACFI, having a specialist aged care management team who can handle things for you is the best option.
Implement a schedule
Aspyre Solutions states that having a "set process for recurring tasks" is a great idea, as it will make sure all the daily jobs on your to-do list are completed in a timely fashion. This can include everything from coffee breaks to dealing with customer enquiries.
Put 'like tasks' together
When arranging your schedule, you can save time by putting similar tasks – such as meetings or financial duties – together, so you don't have to keep changing gear and switching focus.
